Egg Tarts
The secret is to use the pre-made tart crusts from the Chinese grocery store! (pictured egg tarts are ones from Hong Kong, not our homemade ones)

Ingredients
Pastry Shell
- 12 pre-made tart crusts (from Chinese grocery store)
Filling
- 1 cup of hot water (hot tap water is fine)
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk (one 5oz Carnation can is sufficient)
- 3 eggs
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Dissolve sugar in hot water to make a syrup (use a whisk to make sure that sugar is completely dissolved).
- Whisk 3 eggs in a bowl.
- Combine eggs, evaporated milk, sugar syrup, and vanilla extract.
- Divide mixture into tart crusts.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
